Bio

Robin is a current student on the path to an Animal Science degree from UC Davis. Livestock, (sheep and bees) are her primary interests. Her passion was lit after taking her first beekeeping class through Sacramento Area Beekeepers Association. Her instant love for bees allows her to live out her dreams inside the lab and out in the field. Since joining the E.L. Niño lab she has found the greatest joy in participating in the Niño lab's Pollinator Education Program (PEP) for kids. She is a firm believer that connecting with the children and educating them on the importance of supporting pollinators is essential for the better future of our planet. She hopes that the fun interactions will make a lasting positive impact. Robin also helps facilitate courses offered to the general public and enjoys learning something new with each class. When she is not working at the lab she can be found tending to her two hives in Placer County. She is fascinated by the social behaviors and hierarchy status of the hive, breeding, and the entire queen rearing process.
