Laura is currently a part-time staff research associate and graphic designer for the Niño lab. She works remotely from Minneapolis, MN. Previously, Laura was a postdoctoral researcher in the Niño lab and her research focused on determining how different mating factors affected queen reproductive development. Before that, Laura received her PhD in microbiology from Montana State University where her research focused on honey bee antiviral defense. She was also the first recipient of the Project Apis m's Costco Student Fellowship.
