Being a person who loves plants, I was thrilled to have found a major that perfectly suits my interests here at UC Davis. The goal after I graduate was to restore natural habitats in urban garden settings. My interest in bees spiked after taking an integrated pest management class and I with that newfound love, my goal after graduation slightly changed. Now I’m determined to restore pollinator habitats in urban garden settings. I firmly believe that if everyone put a small amount of effort into integrating proper pollinator gardens into their landscapes, we could help combat the decline of these essential insects. Having the opportunity to learn while
working alongside these incredibly knowledgeable and invested people at the Honey Bee Research Facility is what continues to drive my passion for honey bees and their habitats.
