Department of Entomology and Nematology
William is an undergraduate student in the Department of Plant Sciences seeking a B.S. in Botany from UC Davis. Working currently with Raoul Adamchak at the UC Davis Market Garden and Elina L. Niño at the Harry H. Laidlaw Jr. Honey Bee Research Facility. Has interests in botany, pathology, integrated pest management, and agriculture and combining these fields to improve agricultural sustainability, biodiversity, and bioavailability of nutrients. William has always had a love for nature and working outside because that’s where all the plants, fungi, and insects can be found. This fascination has led to a pursuit of a degree and career in Botany and agriculture. He would like to research the potential of weeds and other non-crop plants for their ability to provide micronutrients and sustainable food sources in times of climate change and malnutrition. William is currently working on the Bee Bio Lab educational garden to create an edible plant pollinator promoter garden with the goal of finding edible plants that can be grown and eaten while still providing optimal sources of nutrition for our pollinators.
